The new Shimano Ocea Fluoro Leader offers several advantages for discerning anglers dealing with cautious fish in challenging fishing conditions.
It is thinner than equivalent shrinking nylon, highly abrasion-resistant, doesn't absorb water, so it sinks faster, is light in color, and, with its refractive index quite close to water, is therefore less visible to fish.
The Ocea Leader's structure is also quite different as it has a soft fluorocarbon core for knot strength, a tough outer shell for abrasion resistance, and then a fluorine coating over it to provide a smooth surface finish.
It comes in 50m spools with a line retainer.
